Pantelleria
Known as the Black Pearl of the Mediterranean thanks to the volcanic rock along its coastline that runs high above the sea, the small island of Pantelleria, lying to the south-west of Sicily and belonging to the province of Trapani, is an outstanding summer holiday destination. The island’s main town, also called Pantelleria, has maintained the ambience and reserve of a fishing village and is dotted with small shops, bars and intimate restaurants offering traditional dishes like ravioli with ricotta cheese and mint, pasta strips with sea food, and breaded sea bream. Guardian of ancient traditions and manual skills, Pantelleria offers tourists and visitors breath-taking coastal landscapes, festivals and cultural events, and rich and exciting flavours.

Where to sleep
The island is adorned with a magnificent volcanic coastline that in places offers wonderful viewpoints and lookout points over the cobalt sea. Our recommendation for accommodation in Pantelleria would be a hotel in the immediate vicinity of the sea with breath-taking views.
When to visit Pantelleria
The hot and sunny summer is the best time to enjoy the sea and coast – July and August are peak months. The spring, with mild temperatures and fresh cool air, is perfect for walking and heading out to enjoy the natural surroundings.
